چکیده

Abstract Tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding is frequently used to fabricate super duplex stainless steel weldments due its superior mechanical qualities and attractive appearance in contrast with other arc techniques. The broad use of TIG remains constrained despite all advantages. Thus, the process activated flux tungsten (A-TIG) created. In current study, ATIG different oxide fluxes execute bead-on-plate on 6 mm thick (SS) SAF 2507 grade. processes are for welding, macrostructure, microstructure, features DSS weld beads analysed. When used, A-TIG technique achieves a greater depth penetration narrower bead width than standard process. SiO 2 gives highest (5.42 mm) among used. Also, using has finer grain structure higher hardness value fluxes. primary microstructure zone was austenitic, but delta ferrite still present.

Effect of Activated Flux on Properties of SS 304 Using TIG Welding

In this experimental work, Manganese oxide (MnO2), Zinc oxide (ZnO), Iron oxide (Fe2O3) and Magnesium chloride (MgCl2) were used as activating flux to investigate the effects for SS 304 in tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding. Ultimate tensile strength, percentage elongation, Penetration depth and width were studied of material SS 304. The experimental results indicated that the MnO2 and Fe2O3 flux...
